Privacy policy
Last updated: October 28, 2026
In short
DirectChange does not collect, store, sell or share any personal data. There is no account, no analytics and no tracking.
What the extension reads
To find prices, DirectChange reads the text of the pages you visit. This happens entirely on your device. Page content, URLs and browsing history are never sent to anyone, including us.
Network requests
The only requests DirectChange makes download exchange rates, about every 10 minutes at most:
api.coinbase.com, the primary source of rates;open.er-api.com, used only if the first one is unavailable.
These requests contain no information about you or the pages you browse. Like any web request, they reveal your IP address to those services, which handle it under their own privacy policies.
What is stored
- Your settings (on/off, reference currency, language), in your browser's extension storage. If you use browser sync, your browser syncs them across your devices.
- The latest exchange rates, cached locally.
Uninstalling the extension deletes all of it.
Permissions
- Access to websites: needed to detect prices on the pages you visit and show their converted value.
- Storage: keeps your settings and the cached rates.
